Victor Khor is one of Asia’s most outstanding solo pianists and teachers. His playing has attracted praise from two of the world’s foremost pianists. Jean-Yves Thibaudet has called him "a sophisticated pianist with inner musicianship" whilst Stephen Hough describes him as "a fine, sensitive and exciting pianist with an imaginative flair."

Victor commenced his studies of both piano and violin at the age of eight. He then progressed to the world famous Moscow Conservatoire, the first Singapore pianist to be awarded a scholarship to study with two legends of the piano–Tatiana Nikolayeva and Yevgeny Malinin. He continued his studies with Chopin specialist Ryszard Bakst and music interpretation with George Hadjinikos at Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music in England.

Victor Khor was the first Singaporean pianist to perform three major works in concert – Bach’s Goldberg Variations, Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit and the second of Prokofiev’s War Sonatas, Number Eight in B flat major. He is also celebrated for his interpretations of other pinnacles of the great French, Russian and Viennese classics of the piano repertoire. He has a special affinity with Prokofiev’s Second Concerto and Rachmaninoff’s Fourth which have garnered high critical and public acclaim. He has gained a reputation for an unusually innovative and daring approach to his recitals. He has been described by Singapore’s Straits Times as "intrepid" and "a maverick" from whom "one can only expect the unexpected!"

Victor is equally at home in the more contemporary genres of jazz, new age, minimalism and rock. He has presented several recital series of the piano solo transcriptions by Christopher O’Riley of hits by the alternative rock band Radiohead. Throughout his career Victor has performed in many cities in Asia and Europe. In recent years he has particularly enjoyed playing in several small towns and villages in Greece.

In addition to performing in recital and concert, Victor is a prolific pedagogue and tutor, taking his students from beginner level to the highly virtuosic Third Piano Concerto of Rachmaninoff and the complete Études of both Chopin and Liszt. During his career he has mentored many international students and helped them attain their musical goals. His past students include local musicians such as Abigail Sin, Darrell Ang and Zhang Chi.
